I do. At least when it comes to Horror Flicks. I watch them all: zombies, aliens, vampires, spirits, slashers—even crazed dolls.
On the theory that you might too and that you like to play games, I’ve listed 13 of my favorite spooky lines. Can you guess what movie they’ve come from? (Feel free to check out my sources for hints.)
1. A boy’s best friend is his mother.
2. I’ve seen enough horror movies to know that any weirdo wearing a mask is never friendly.
3. Be afraid….Be very afraid.
4. They’re Heee-re.
5. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.
6. Oh, yes, there will be blood!
7. Ray, when someone asks you if you’re a god, you say, “Yes”!
8. We have to convince the little housewife out there that the tomato that ate the family pet is not dangerous!
9. He-e-e-e-e-re’s Johnnie!
10. Good, bad, I’m the one with the gun. Come git some!
11. I see dead people.
12. Whatever you do, don’t fall asleep.
13. In those moments where you're not quite sure if the undead are really dead, dead, don't get all stingy with your bullets. I mean, one more clean shot to the head, and this lady could have avoided becoming a human Happy Meal. Woulda... coulda... shoulda.
Leave your guesses in the comments. I’ll check back and let you know if you’re correct. Then at the end of the day, I’ll post the answers. Thanks for playing.

1. Psycho
ReplyDelete2. Scream
4. Poltergeist
5. The Silence of the Lambs
7. Signs?
9. The Shining
11. Sixth Sense
12. Nightmare on Elm Street
I don't know the others.
Happy Thursday!
I'm not big on horror movies, but have--unfortunately--been dragged to or forced to watch a couple at HS slumber parties. So, can only answer a few of these.
ReplyDelete1. Psycho (Probably the only Hitchcock I did not watch all the way through)
4. Poltergeist (Is there anyone alive during the 80s who didn't see this one?)
5. Silence of the Lambs (Will not, ever, watch this one. Not. Happening.)
8. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (Never saw it, but college friends were always joking about it)
9. The Shining (I was dragged to this in college, and thought it more stupid than scary.)
11. The Sixth Sense (Love this film, and have made a habit of watching it every year around Halloween. One of the best films ever!)
12. Nightmare on Elm Street (One of those slumber party hazzards mentioned above--I actually faced away from the TV and read while my friends watched it. Honest.)
Wow, I answered more of thise than I thought I would! I have another one of my famous (or is that infamous?) vocab posts this week. *G* My blog
Wow what a great list. The only ones I knew the others have already answered. Thanks for playing!
ReplyDeleteI got some of them but I admit to preferring to read modern horror rather than watch it, although I do like the old Hammer horror films.
ReplyDeleteFun list! Happy T13!
ReplyDeleterestlessvagabond,
ReplyDeleteGood guesses. You've got most but not all right. I'll help you at the end of the day. :)
Heather,
ReplyDeleteWow, you knew pretty many. Nice work.
Janet,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by anyway. I always like to hear from you.
anthonynorth,
ReplyDeleteYeah, I like to read Horror too. Thanks for stopping by.
Adelle Laudan,
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'll be visiting you shortly. :)
Others have already answered, but let me take a crack at it.
ReplyDelete1. Psycho
2. Scream
3. The Fly ( I can't tell you how many times this was quoted when I was little.)
4. Poltergeist (Also repeated incessantly as a child)
5. Silence of the Lambs
6. I've seen the tshirt and I think it's a slasher flick, like Hostel or Saw or The Hills Have Eyes
7.Ghostbusters (Another oft quoted line)
8. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes(A guess by the fact that a tomato killed a family pet)
9. The Shining
10. Army of Darkness (OMG have I heard this enough to last me a lifetime)
11. The Sixth Sense
12. Nightmare on Elm Street
13. Zombieland (Which I haven't seen, but "the double-tap" has become a standard reference among gamers, so I've heard a great deal about the scene)
The only one I got off the top of my head was Silence of the Lambs. I got Zombiland after thinking about it for a minute and most of the others a minute or two later.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know a single one, but I'm not a big movie watcher in any genre so that does not surprise me!
ReplyDeleteI did pretty well, I think. I won't bother listing my answers, now too many people already have.
ReplyDeleteStill, there are some here I haven't seen, and probably won't (I'm not much for gory films).
But Ghostbusters is a scary film? Really? Hmmmm... ;)
Happy TT!
Xakara,
ReplyDeleteGood guesses. You've gotten some that no one else has! Thanks for playing.
Alice Audrey,
ReplyDeleteGrin. Don't tell anyone, but you've guessed right. Thanks for trying.
Kimberly Menozzi,
ReplyDeleteYou caught me. I like horror movies that are also funny or comedies that are also scary.
Happy TT!
I never watch horro movies, yet a lot of these lines are familiar. I know Silence of the Lambs and sixth Sense.
ReplyDeleteI knew a few of those- hopefully, the important ones.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thursday!

Other people have answered all the ones I know, but this is a great idea! Especially this time of year :D
ReplyDeleteShelley Munro,
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing even though you don't like horror movies. I'll be putting up the answers soon.
Thanks Harriet,
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you dropping by and playing.
Raina,
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought it would be fun.
I'm a total horror wimp. I only knew The Shining and Sixth Sense...
ReplyDeleteFun list, though. And thanks for coming by Sweet Tea and Sunshine, it's always good to see you.
I got 6 of them without cheating. 7 if I give myself credit for the Scream quote, because while I haven't seen the movie start-to-finish, I think I may kinda sorta remember it from a clip I perhaps saw once. Nah, I don't deserve credit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting me in the Halloween mood!
sherilee,
ReplyDeleteNo worries. I appreciate you stopping by and giving the guessing game a shot.
The Gal Herself,
ReplyDeleteYeah, around this time of year, there are tons of scary films on. Thanks for playing.
Okay, I gave you all an extra night to finish guessing, but for those who have waited for the answers--here they are:

2.Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives.
3.The Fly 1986
4.Poltergeist
5.The Silence of the Lambs
6.Saw II
7.Ghostbusters
8.Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
9.The Shining
10.Army of Darkness
11.Sixth Sense

13.Zombieland
Thanks again for sharing some spooky fun with me. :)
I don't really like to be scared, but I like a good psychological thriller. I did recognize a few lines: Psycho, Poltergeist, The Shining, Sixth Sense. Fun 13!
ReplyDeleteOh, my RSS feed didn't find this post until now. Ugh! Looks like you have all the answers. I only knew a few of these. I'm not much of a horror movie buff, but I've seen a lot of these flicks. Thanks for the fun quotes!
